| BROCKENHURST F.C. – CLUB HISTORY
Brockenhurst Football Club was founded in 1898. they purchased their current ground in Grigg Lane from the Morant Estate in 1950. Previously the club had played at Rhinefield Road and Brookley Road. In the early days the club played in the New Forest League as well as playing local friendlies. In 1924 the club joined the Hampshire League but after two seasons returned to the New Forest League. Brockenhurst returned the Hampshire League in 1935 but, once again, the club returned to the New Forest League after two seasons where they stayed until after the Second World War. In 1947 the club rejoined the Hampshire League where it stayed until becoming a founder member of the Wessex League in 1986. Honours included being champions of Division 3 in 1959/1960, Division 2 champions in 1970/1971 & Division 1 champions in 1975/1976. During this time the club also won the Bournemouth Senior Cup in 1960/1961 and the Hampshire Intermediate Cup in 1961/1962. In the Wessex League the club’s best finish was in season 2001/2002 when they finished 5th and season 1994/1995 when they finished 6th. Last season the club was managed by John Pyatt and they finished 6th in the Premier Division. |
