| LAVERSTOCK & FORD HISTORY |
| Laverstock & Ford Football Club was established in 1956 and in
it’s opening season they finished runners up in The Salisbury & District

division in 1970/1. The following season the club were runners up and
won the Morrison Cup.
After relegation the following season, the club competed in Division 2 for 9 seasons but during that time the club won the Wiltshire Junior Cup and Heseltine Cup. Promotion back to Division 1 in 1982/3 then the Premier League in 1984/5 followed when the club finished runners up & won the Stonehenge Cup. The club entered the Wiltshire League where it competed until 1990/1, returning to the Salisbury & District for one season in 1991/2. Laverstock then joined the Hampshire League Division 3 for 1 season in 1992/3 but returned for the next 3 seasons to the Salisbury & District where it won the Morrison Cup (twice) and the Riley Cup. The club then made its home the Hampshire League where it competed in Division 3 & 2 until the League amalgamated with the Sydenhams Wessex League for season 2004/5. During its period in the Hampshire League the club was successful in winning the Wiltshire Junior Cup again and the Bledisloe Cup (twice) and the Stokes Cup. However its most striking Cup run was in the Hospital Cup of 2001/2 when the club beat Salisbury City & Shrewton United on the way to a final fefeat by Bemerton Heath Harlequins. The first season in the Wessex League the club finished 11th in Division 3 but the following season finished runners up. With the re-shaping of the League & the ability to reach Step 6 grading the Laverstock were promoted to Division 1 for 2006/7 establishing a mid-table position. The club was granted the prestigious Charter Standard Award
in 2002 and in 2004 the Community Standards Award was added
as well as being granted Senior status by the Wiltshire Football
Association. Plans are in place to erect covered spectator
