DOWNTON'S VASE DELIGHT!
Downton swept aside Eastern Counties League side, Lymore Gardens 3-0 to reach the last eight of the Isuzu FA Vase for the first time in the club's history.
Sam Davidson gave the Robins the lead just before the break (photo below), before Brett Pitman's header made it two, four minutes into the second half.
Harry McGrath made it three (see main photo) with nineteen left to play to conclude the scoring, in front of 308 at The Nest.
Premier Division leaders, AFC Stoneham will be looking to join Downton in the quarter finals, their fifth round tie at Haywards Heath Town succumbing to a waterlogged pitch and will now be played on February 14.
The draw for the quarter finals will take place on TalkSport2 radio on Monday, February 9 at around 3.15pm.
The quarter-finals are scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 28 with winning clubs at that stage picking up £4,125 from the competition prize fund and £1,300 for the losing teams.
