Premier Division

Baffins Milton Rovers  2-3  AFC Stoneham

Blackfield & Langley  1-3  Moneyfields

This could well be the shortest midweek round up on record with initially only eight matches scheduled, six on Tuesday and two on Wednesday, Then came the rain and Tuesday’s programme was reduced to one with the postponement of the Premier Division fixture at Amesbury, the eagerly awaited (in the North of the County) Division One clash Andover New Street and Andover Town, the two Wiltshire Senior Cup Semi Finals involving Bemerton Heath and Downton and Alresford’s tie in the Southampton Senior Cup.

The only game to take place was at the County Ground where Hamworthy United moved to the top Premier Division table with victory over Bournemouth that did not come easily. Sixteen places separated the two sides at the start of the evening and it took a lone second half goal in the dying minutes from Cameron Munn to give the FA Vase quarter finalists the three points to halt the visitor’s recent upsurge in form.

Two matches set for Wednesday, both in the Premier Division, and happily both went ahead. A hectic start to proceedings at Baffins Milton Rovers with a goal apiece in the opening minutes before the home side went ahead only for Stoneham’s Duarte Martins to add two more goals to his earlier strike and give his side a three two lead. This is how things stood at the break, and with no further goals in the second half it was the visitors who took the points. Craig McAllister and Harry Sergeant scored the home goals in front of a decent attendance of one hundred and eighty. On the Waterside, Moneyfields, after two perhaps surprising defeats, came back to form with a three one win at Blackfield and Langley with Callum Glen, Tom Cain and Evan Harris on target while Owen Fee notched the home goal.

Yateley United's rise continued on Saturday, as they reached Step 5 for the first time in the club's short history in emphatic fashion, with 6-1 victory over Whitchurch United. A Wessex League season best crowd of 908 witnessed the Division One play-off final at Yateley's Sean Devereux Park - a venue hosting Step 7 football as recently as 2022/23 in the Thames Valley Premier.
