ROYALS ARE CHAMPIONS!

AFC Portchester have won the Velocity Wessex League Premier Division title following their 1-0 victory at Cowes Sports on Tuesday night.

Marley Ridge's strike on 78 minutes proved to be decisive for Gav Spurway's side, who will grace Step 4 for the first time in the club's relatively short history.

The Royals still have plenty to play for to add to their League title in what could turn out to be a remarkable campaign, reaching the finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup, Velocity Wessex League Cup and Russell Cotes Cup, alongside the semi-finals of the Portsmouth Senior Cup.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, fellow promotion-chasers AFC Stoneham drew 0-0 at Hamble Club, while Fareham thumped Millbrook 5-1 at Test Park.

Both Stoneham and Fareham are guaranteed play-off places, with the remaining two up for grabs between FA Vase semi-finalists, Andover New Street; Hamworthy Recreation, Baffins Milton Rovers, Hamble Club and Millbrook.

Goals from Oliver Jenkins, Oliver Fee and Mat Bainbridge - all inside an eleven minute spell in the first half - put the Purps into what turned out to be an unassailable advantage against the Premier Division champions, to give James Phillips' side their first Senior Cup victory in the club's 106-year history.
